Objectives

Flowta Sites has the following primary objectives.

Centre for Learning and Advice

Flowta Sites aims to become a recognised active centre supporting web based learning and teaching.  It will be a source of advice and reference focussing initially on empowering individuals to access and effectively use the web.  It will also promote collaboration between individuals to produce web based learning and teaching opportunities.

for Community and Individuals

Flowta Sites will support individuals wanting to learn or to develop materials to help others learn.  It will promote discussion and development of ideas in these areas, allow individuals to provide advice and communicate, and support formation of groups and projects to these ends.

Want to use the web for your benefit (not just browsing)? FlowtaSites will show you all the basic web tools available, explain what they are for, what they can do, what they cost (many are free), and demonstrate how to access and use them. We want you to find the training you need, know how these tools fit together and get the most from the web.

Want to help others to learn from your skills and experience? FlowtaSites will provide the tools and facilities to help you get your messages / knowledge / courses to those who need them. We will show you web tools available to help you to produce blogs / articles / audio / videos. We will link you to potential partners and top learning and training areas.

Already have courses ready to publish on the web? FlowtaSites can help you by hosting your material (free or paid content).

Need to discuss / develop your training ideas? FlowtaSites will provide fora, groups and social areas for discussion and collaboration.

We are explaining the Basics by creating a large number of quality videos about the web, web tools (email, blogs, file repositories, browsers, security, collaboration etc), and with some basic help in producing screen based videos to get you started in explaining what you have to teach:)

The Development Plan is where we are scheduling our tasks, and priorities. Have your say about what happens next, and join in making it happen.

As Courses are developed and become available, you will be able to access or subscribe to them in this area.

In Partner Here you can offer or seek partnership for collaboration on developing projects.

And we provide a full blogging system (for members) where you can tell the world what you think about Flowta sites, these ideas and approaches, the content or courses that reside here or any other relevant matter.

C4 (Communicate Coach Collaborate Create) - Seriously Social

FlowtaSites is based on the C⁴ principal (Communicate - Coach - Collaborate - Create) (a term I think I just made up, who can tell*).

Unless you are a genius (all genius' are welcome too, of course) then the best thing you are likely to build, create or conceive in your life will most likely happen when you are part of a team, working towards a common goal, a goal that will meet your various objectives.  Team members communicate easily (intuitively), they help and rely on each other, they listen and adapt their actions and personal goals, and they are motivated.  Teams are short lived, members move on when objectives are reached, hopefully before they burn out.

If you are ever lucky enough to be in a really effective team you will remember the experience for life.

The objective of FlowtaSites is to set the scene on the web that will promote the forming of a community (the place to be) and teams (delivering member agreed results) based around the idea of using (and learning how to use) the Internet.

ALL are welcome.

FlowtaSites itself is a work-in-progress.  It will be built progressively by those who join the community, who share their ideals, ideas and objectives, who contribute to its development.

There is a fifth C relevant to the princpals of FlowtaSites, but C⁵ doesnt sound as cool as C⁴ .  That principal is Courtesy.  Discourtesy (and disrespect) will not be tolerated on FlowtaSites.  That does'nt mean you can't argue, disagree, or pull each others legs.  A good guide will be if your fellow site members start asking you to cool it, then you should, or we will.

Principals are fine, but they guide our behaviour, they dont actually cause anything to happen.
